They are Keith Parrish and Donna OShaughnessy, married with children (4) and grandchildren (3). Keith has always lived in Central Illinois, mostly in little towns all along Route 24. Donna was raised in Chicago, then Joliet, then the Black Hills of South Dakota for over a decade and then home again to Illinois.Neither came from a farm background but both admit to having been readers of Mother Earth News since they were teens.
Keith applied to one college, Joilet Junior College, attended it and graduated with a degree in agriculture. Donna applied to many colleges, attended several ( for a month or two) and finally graduated from Rapid City Regional Hospital School of Nursing. Keith is the full time farmer, while Donna plays farmer during the week and works as an RN on weekends.
Both love farming (except when it is cold, or icy or windy or too hot) and their family. They think grandchildren are especially grand.
