THE BASICS
We are a small family owned dairy farm in Chatsworth Illinois. All our meat is raised here on pasture as the seasons allow. Our beef and dairy cows are outside in the fresh air and sunshine the majority of their lives. During winter they are fed certified organic hay and mineral supplements. Emphasis is on the hay. We do not use any antibiotics, hormones, or steroids. Our only exception is if an animals life is at risk. We then use antibiotics as needed , but the animal will not be used for meat or dairy per organic standards. Our dairy and beef production was certified organic in 2009. Our pork production was Certified Organic in October 2010.
THE SPECIFICS
All our beef is born and raised on our farm. we then take it to one of four lockers located in Chenoa, Forrest, Watseka and Eureka Illinois. Bittners Eureka locker is the only certified organic locker in Illinois.
